5. Pag-setup
5.1. Pag-instalar sa Baterya
- I-align ang battery pack sa likod sa radyo.
- I-slide ang battery pack pataas hangtud nga kini mo-klik sa dapit.
- Ensure the battery tightening screw (17) is securely fastened.
5.2. Pagdugtong sa Antenna
- Screw the antenna (1) clockwise into the connector on top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.
5.3. Pag-charge sa Baterya
The UV-18H GPS radio supports both desktop charging and USB-C direct charging.

- Pangkarga sa Desktop: Place the radio into the charging base. Ensure the charging contacts align. The Type-C Charging Indicator (16) will illuminate to show charging status.
- Direktang Pag-charge gamit ang USB-C: Connect the USB-C charger cable to the Type-C Charging Port (15) on the side of the radio and to a compatible USB power source (e.g., USB wall adapter, computer, power bank, car charger). The Type-C Charging Indicator (16) will show charging status.
Note: Fully charge the battery before initial use for optimal performance.
6. Mga Instruksyon sa Pag-opera
6.1. Basic Operation
- Pag-on/Pagpatay: Rotate the Power/Volume Knob (2) clockwise to turn on the radio. Rotate counter-clockwise until it clicks to turn off.
- Pag-adjust sa Volume: Rotate the Power/Volume Knob (2) to adjust the listening volume.
- PTT (Push-to-Talk) Key: Press and hold the PTT Key (11) to transmit. Release to receive.

6.3. Pagdumala sa Channel
The radio supports up to 999 memory channels for storing frequencies and settings.

Refer to the on-screen menu (MENU Key (7)) for instructions on saving, recalling, and managing channels.
6.4. Wireless Frequency Copy
This feature allows you to quickly copy frequencies and sub-tones from another radio. Ensure the two radios are at least 30cm apart for accurate copying.

Press lightly to complete the frequency alignment operation. No complex settings are required, making it easy to get started.
6.5. Advanced nga mga Feature
- Dual Watch, Dual Standby: Monitor two different frequencies simultaneously.

- Time Scan: Scans channels for a set period.
- Carrier Scan: Scans channels and stops when a signal is detected.
- Search Scan: Searches for active frequencies within a range.
- VOX (Voice Operated Transmission): Allows hands-free operation by transmitting when it detects your voice.
- Mode sa Alarm: Site/Code/Tone alarm options for emergency situations.
- Frequency Hopping: Enhances communication security.
- CTCSS/DCS Scan: Scans for Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System (CTCSS) or Digital-Coded Squelch (DCS) tones.
- Roger Beep: An audible tone indicating the end of a transmission.
- DTMF (Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency): Used for signaling, including Group Call, Individual Call, and All Call functions.

7. Pagmentinar
7.1. Kinatibuk-ang Pag-atiman
- Hupti nga uga ang radyo. Kung basa kini, pahiran dayon kini.
- Ayaw ibutyag ang radyo sa grabeng temperatura o direkta nga kahayag sa adlaw sa dugay nga panahon.
- Likayi ang paghulog o pagpaubos sa radyo sa kusog nga mga epekto.
- Keep the radio away from dust and dirt.
7.2. Paglimpyo
- Limpyohi ang nawong sa radyo gamit ang humok, damp panapton. Ayaw gamita ang mapintas nga mga kemikal o mga abrasive nga panglimpyo.
- Ensure the charging ports (USB-C and desktop contacts) are free from debris.
7.3. Pag-atiman sa Baterya
- Ibutang ang baterya sa usa ka bugnaw, uga nga lugar kung dili gamiton.
- Ayaw i-short-circuit ang mga terminal sa baterya.
- Kung ang radyo dili gamiton sa dugay nga panahon, kuhaa ang baterya.
